CAROLS IN THE PARK: Well done to our Vocal Ensemble, Senior and Intermediate Choirs, marimba teams and piano duets for your participation in the wonderful Carol Service held at Maynardville Park.
MUSIC APPLICATIONS: There are waiting lists for most instruments (for piano it can sometimes be up to two years), so please fill in your music lesson application form as soon as possible. ALL information about lessons can be found in the MUSIC INFORMATION DOCUMENT on our website. An application form is available there as well.
Piano is the most popular instrument chosen and the waiting list can be up to two years, so we encourage you to consider alternative instruments such as cello, clarinet, recorder, saxophone or drum kit. Brass instruments such as trumpet, trombone, euphonium and tuba are taught at Beau Soleil Music Centre in Salisbury Road, Kenilworth, and you are encouraged to consider these too, especially as there is a high demand for students playing these instruments in the local high schools.
We are saying a sad farewell to Mrs Theresa Mills, our cello teacher of the past eight years. She started our cello department and we currently have the most cello students in a junior school in the Cape area! She has done incredible work with our students, and with many students who have already moved into high school orchestras. Thank you, Theresa, you will be missed!
