Safety and Security

At Wynberg Girls’ Junior School the safety and security of our staff and learners is paramount. This is evident from when you first arrive at the school in the morning and you are greeted by our friendly traffic officer, Aunty Sharon. She is at the school every morning to ensure the learners are able to cross the road safely.

We have a very friendly security guard who stands at the front gate and also greets the learners with enthusiasm and is always willing to help where he can. Prinston Security are our chosen security providers and they ensure we have a guard onsite 24 hours a day. Once inside the school we have several security cameras that monitor movement around the school. These recordings are available should we need to go back and check anything. The cameras are not there to “watch” any individual but are there for safety reasons.

With Covid-19, we have had to make some changes to our daily routine, and these are taken very seriously. All learners, staff and visitors are screened upon arrival. We have a strict no mask, no entry policy and have ensured that we have sufficient hand and surface sanitizer in all our venues. Our maintenance staff do their best to ensure our school is as safe as possible by following a prescribed sanitization programme daily.
